Position Overview
We are currently seeking an individual in the role of Server Analyst.
Reporting to the Server Supervisor, the Server Analyst (the “Analyst”) will act as part of a virtual, distributed team responsible for all enterprise operational server infrastructure, including projects. The related infrastructure supports the core functions of Teck Resources Limited: Information acquisition, analysis, storage, and retention for financial, materials, sales, logistics, exploration, environmental, and risk purposes.   Dimensions:  The Analyst will be operationally focused with responsibly associated with virtualization, storage, server hardware, server software and related configurations necessary to support the enterprise.  Services supported by the distributed team include but are not limited to the hardware and software configurations necessary to support: Communications and Collaboration (e-mail/messenger), Financial (Agresso, Hyperion, SAP, JDE), Materials Mgmt. and Logistics (Dynamics AX, JDE), Exploration (GIS Data, Pangeos, Gemcom, FlexiCadasre), environmental (SiteLine).
Responsibilities:
- Manage work queues, incidents, requests and service level agreements in accordance with policy.
- Manage Enterprise ESX high and low density server farms including related hardware and software.
- Manage Active directory users and computersManage technical documentation related to the functions of the server team.
Key Competencies: Information Technology: Must possess knowledge of the VMware ESX virtual Server environment, storage, Microsoft Server family OS’s, Linux, and network infrastructure. Must also possess knowledge of complex, up-to-date computer software and hardware installations. In addition, the successful candidate requires strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate within a distributed team as well as other departments at all levels of the organization. Certifications / Training:·        2 year ..in Computer Science or Management information systems (MIS)·        Microsoft certifications, Server and Active Directory. Practical Experience / Attributes:·        3+ years of experience managing Microsoft Server operating systems in an enterprise environment·        2+ years’ experience supporting Active Directory 2008 and 2012·        1 – 2 years in a service desk role (Help Desk) in a medium to large environment·        Understanding of the technologies listed in the “Key accountabilities” section·        Demonstrated ability to manage time demands and prioritize work when supporting staff at multiple locations.
