最近，我看到以下的报道：
Driver takes OPP on slow speed chase in Meaford

On March 18, a Grey County OPP officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Hwy. 26, in the Meaford, to check the sobriety of the driver after the vehicle was observed weaving within the west bound lane at speeds well below the posted speed limit of 80 km/h.
The officer, operating an OPP cruiser, activated the cruiser's emergency roof lights and followed the suspect vehicle for a distance of approximately five km at speeds of 30 km/h to 40 km/h before the driver pulled over and stopped his vehicle on Grey Rd. 112.
The driver of the 2013 BMW SUV, who was found not to be impaired, explained to the officer that he was not aware that he was required to stop his vehicle until he heard the cruiser's siren.
The 22-year-old male driver from Markham was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for fail to stop on right for emergency vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The total payable fine for this offence is $490 and three demerit points.

安省交通法的第159条规定如下：
Stop on approach of vehicle with flashing lights or bell or siren sounding:
The driver of a vehicle, upon the approach of an emergency vehicle with its bell or siren sounding or its lamp producing intermittent flashes of light, shall immediately bring such vehicle to a standstill,
(a) as near as is practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway and parallel therewith and clear of any intersection; or
(b) when on a roadway having more than two lanes for traffic and designated for the use of one-way traffic, as near as is practicable to the nearest curb or edge of the roadway and parallel therewith and clear of any intersection.
规定要求汽车司机在遇到紧急车辆开来的时候（不管是从后面或是对面），在听到警笛或是高音喇叭，或是看到不断闪的警灯，司机应该马上停车。 具体把车停在什么地方呢？ 有以下两种情况：
A）尽量把车靠路的右边停下来。 如是在十字路口的时候，要把车驶离十字路口后再停下来以此确保十字路口的畅通。我记得我以前碰到过很多这样的情况，我在去一些紧急的RADIO CALL的路上，我的警笛拉响了，警灯也开着。我前面的司机看到警灯或是听到警笛后，马上把车原地停下来。这种情况真是弄得我们做警察的哭笑不得。要强调的是，如果公路没有隔离带的话，对面行使的车辆也要停下来。像前面说的情况，如果我前面的两个车道的车都原地停下来了，那我只有开到对面的车道上来绕过他们。
B）如果公路是单行线而且有两条或以上的行车道（比如400， 401这样的高速公路），司机应该把车辆停在最靠行车道的路边上停下来（比如说，你在401高速的最左边的快线上开车，这时候有紧急车辆从后面驶来，警灯开着警笛也响着。 这时候你可以把车停在靠近左边快线的路肩 停下来，而没有必要换线几次后把车停在最右边的路肩上）
在这里我想强调的是，司机一定要在安全的情况下把车停下来。 也就是说， 你在看到紧急车辆驶来的时候，在安全换线并却保后面没有车的时后，把你的车辆安全的停下来。
还有一点是，作为司机，你在看到警灯或是听到警笛（其中之一）的时候，交通法要求你把车马上停下来。上面报道里说讲的司机跟OPP警察解释说他看到了警灯而没有听到警笛，所以他没有停车。这就说明他对交通法还欠缺了解。
这里说讲的紧急车辆包括警车，火警和医疗救护车。
那么，遇到已经停在路边的紧急车辆或拖车的时候，又该如何面对呢？请参看：
Slow down on approaching stopped emergency vehicle or tow truck：
-Upon approaching an emergency vehicle with its lamp producing intermittent flashes of red light or red and blue light or a tow truck with its lamp producing intermittent flashes of amber light that is stopped on a highway, the driver of a vehicle travelling on the same side of the highway shall slow down and proceed with caution, having due regard for traffic on and the conditions of the highway and the weather, to ensure that the driver does not collide with the emergency vehicle or tow truck or endanger any person outside of the emergency vehicle or tow truck.
-Upon approaching an emergency vehicle with its lamp producing intermittent flashes of red light or red and blue light or a tow truck with its lamp producing intermittent flashes of amber light that is stopped on a highway with two or more lanes of traffic on the same side of the highway as the side on which the emergency vehicle or tow truck is stopped, the driver of a vehicle travelling in the same lane that the emergency vehicle or tow truck is stopped in or in a lane that is adjacent to the emergency vehicle or tow truck, in addition to slowing down and proceeding with caution, shall move into another lane if the movement can be made safely.
按规定，司机应该减速并小心的驶过停在路边的紧急车辆。 如果公路有两条或以上的行车道的话，司机在减速后，在安全的情况下换线后慢慢的驶过停在路边的紧急车辆。如果公路只有一条行车道的话，司机可以在安全的情况下把车停在已停在路边的紧急车辆的后面，或是在安全的时候，减速后慢慢的驶过停在路边的紧急车辆。安省第31号法例在今年9月1号正式生效。 根据这条法例的规定，司机在驶过在路边作业的拖车时也应该减速并小心的驶过。
那么，如果我赶时间，我可以紧跟在出警的火警车的后面超速行车吗？交通法规定如下：
Following fire department vehicle
-No driver of a vehicle shall follow in any lane of a roadway at a distance of less than 150 metres a fire department vehicle responding to an alarm.
很显然，在火警车辆值勤的路上，在150米之内，任何司机都不可以紧跟着出警的火警车辆。
如有违规的话，将会有很重的罚款并会有扣分的处罚。
