Maple Leaf Education North America is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic School Secretary to join the team at our upcoming school in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Maple Leaf School – LakeheadU is the third school in the China Maple Leaf group to open outside of China and is located on the campus of Lakehead University (“LakeheadU”).
The Maple Leaf University School model offers the best of two worlds—a high school located on a university campus. Students experience the support and community of our small high school classes and a unique high school identity along with the independence and advanced academic opportunities available through learning on a university campus.
The university provides a safe and academically stimulating environment, offering options for accelerated courses and dual credits in a rich and supportive learning environment. Our location models the post-secondary experience for our students and prepares them for their further post-secondary studies.
Our students live in on-campus dorms. The School Secretary will support the school principal and teachers in the daily operations of the school and provide a first point of contact for students, parent and the general public.
Location: Lakehead University Campus, Thunder Bay, Ontario
Start date: June 2019
Compensation Package: Competitive
Requirements: university degree in education or social services or similar discipline; fluently bilingual in English and Mandarin and able to communicate clearly with students, parents, teachers and the general public; maturity and experience working with high school students. Familiarity with Ontario independent school operations is an asset. Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident or hold valid work permit. Special consideration will be given to alumni of Maple Leaf Schools globally.
